Ceremony of the ArcelorMittal Indaver Thesis Award 2017

On the official proclamation on 23 September 2017, the Arcelor Mittal Indaver thesis award “Environmental Science and Technology” has been awarded to outstanding Master students who wrote a thesis on an environmental topic. This award is an example of the close cooperation between business and the faculty of Bioscience Engineering and was this year presented for the 23th time. The thesis award is sponsored by ArcelorMittal and Indaver.

Following students received the award:

  • Sam Baelus (Master of Science in Bioscience Engineering: Environmental Technology): "Characterization of phycotoxins in sea spray aerosols"
  • José Luis Huepe Follert (Master of Science in Environmental Sanitation): "Dynamic behavior of a fungal biofilter packed with perlite for the abatement of N- hexane polluted has streams"
  • Blanca Racionero Gomez (International Master of Science in Environmental Technology and Engineering): "Development of novel sorption-based technology for selenium removal from wastewater"
  • Martijn Roosen (Master of Science in Industrial sciences: Environmental Science): "Duurzaamheidsscreening van groenten uit Vlaamse Volkstuinen"
  • Ruben Vanderhaegen (Master of Science in Environmental Sanitation and Management): "Effects of thiacloprid in combination with tebuconazole on different developmental stages of Osmia cornuta"
