Greenhouse gas emission reduction

    • GHG reduction from terrestrial ecosystems

      - We perform unique scenario analyses combining in-depth knowledge of soil processes and agricultural practices with regional-scale biogeochemical models to reduce GHG emissions from terrestrial ecosystems

      - An example of current applications is water saving management (adaptation) in paddy soil combined withl CH4 reduction (mitigation)

    • GHG reduction from wastewater treatment

      - By applying processes implying a smaller GHG footprint

      - E.g. partial nitritation – anammox for nitrogen removal from wastewater
